- Will Adler, Founder, Silver State Govt Relations, says the community is overwhelmed with the response to the groundbreaking for the new Owyhee Combined School, located north of Elko near the Nevada-Idaho border, through funding secured in AB519 to support rural districts. He explains that the old school, attended by Shoshone-Paiute Tribes of the Duck Valley Indian Reservation, was failing on multiple levels, including causing cancer from a hydrocarbon pocket in the water supply underneath the school.
